Hi all,
Just wondering if there is a legal definition for length of flares. About to make my rubber legal on a standard 80series. I'm only running 235/85's but the Sunraysia's offset puts them about 20-odd mm outside wheel arches. Do flares have to run the whole length of the wheel arch or just cover the diameter of the tyre or can they be shorter than that?
Thanks in advance
Brian

Logic would suggest that it should be fitted the full length of the wheel arch.

What sort of Sunrasias?
mine well and truly keep the 235s inside the gaurds. Rubber flares will just get ri[pped off out bush (
well they did on my75 anyway)

bought them 2nd hand and I don't know what sort they are. An interesting point about flares being destroyed in the bush.
I bought the vehicle in QLD and recently transfered rego to NSW. I was knocked back due to tyres protruding from vehicle so I put the original split rims and tyres back on(fortunately hadn't got around to selling them). After being passed, the approver of my blue slip says, "You can put your other set back on until next rego because no one will pull you up for that". Don't ya just love red tape?

I remember back in the 70s I had a pair of 18" flairs and mother used to say "you want locking up wearing those things".
But they were legal and the chicks thought I looked great in them. I think;>)
