Safeways display a sign that states non of thier fuel has ethanol in it , I suppose the upshot of that is if it wrecks your motor and you can prove that ethanol caused it you can sue..cheers

Tod no need to, as Safeway/Woolworths +Petrol have stated in an e-mail to me that I published on this newsgroup, that they have never added ethanol or anything else to their fuel. They also said, as did Mobil that they would put up signs advising consumers if they did alter, modify or add anything to their fuels in the form of an extender/alternative.

Safeway/Woolworths +Petrol would not be that stupid to tamper with their fuel in any way. From what I have researched and seen with my own eyes, I would say from a contamination/tampering point of view +Petrol would be one of your safest bets on fuel.

Safeway/Woolworths +Petrol is a large incentive for people to shop for their groceries at Safeway/Woolworths. This discount petrol scheme is working very well for them. Do you honestly think that they would be that stupid to blow it. Any saving they could make, which would be small, by adulterating their fuels, could never even come close to be recovered by the loss of grocery business.

Why do you think Coles Myer have purchased all Shell Australia's company outlets - certianly not for fun. It is because they are feeling the pain of the Safeway/Woolworths +Petrol at their grocery checkouts and it is hurting them.

Go down to a Safeway/Woolworths +Petrol outlet and ask the manager to show you their daily checking regime. You could not help but to be impressed. You would like to think that this daily checking as per Safeway/Woolworths +Petrol gets done at all service stations - unfortuantly, it does not.

Bruce was a special in Monday's paper. Just lucky it was the day we had to pick up bulk supplies. We get them to put it on multiple dockets as the vouchers last for around a month. Just before Christmas they had a 10c a litre off special for about a week.

Yea wont be long though! As others have said, once one brand cracks the $ through out, they all will, then it will go up and up and up and .......

I thought Qld was cheaper to start with? They used to tanker fuel down from Qld to NSW etc..??

Geez man! Where do you live?

I can get BP Ultimate 98 for 94.9c and ULP for 89.9c at the BP on Rocky Point Rd at Sans Souci. However go to the BP on the Princes Highway at Carss Park and add 5c to both. Now that I have said that, you can guess what will happen!

The difference in fuel prices between these two parallel main roads in Sydney's St.George area has been about 4 to 5c for the last couple of months. And it's a general difference, not confined to BP. Rocky Point Road has always been cheaper.

Im amazed people are still dumb enough to read everything they are told in emails..

I suppose they expect people to say their fuel is cut with other stuff and they are ripping you off...
