Hello all,
Been following this thread with interest as I am setting up a tray.
Just got a set of of Hettich FR1105/800 #30281 slides[80kg @ 700mm extension]and I have a few questions..installing a 60l Trailblaza [about 850x450mm]
1. If I use ply, what thickness & ply no. should I use?
2. Hettich recommends 4x3.5mm woodscrews to hold the base/platform
a) Would this be sufficient for the off-road stresses?
b) Would nut+bolt be better?
3. Alternately, a steel plate..say 3mm? or is this overkill?
TIA...eng
I am just as interested in the replies????
I have used 11mm ply and wood screws.........will it last????

"I have used 11mm ply and wood screws.........will it last???? "
probably as long as that sticker on the bumper, once it gets hit with the gerni..LOL
looks like you have the board underhung from the slides, so only the screw threads are holding it in tension.
if so, change it to above the slide if possible, or replace the wood screws with with bolts or screws and the "t" nut style fasteners. (the threaded inserts that you hammer into place on the back side of the hole with a washer surface to bear the load.)

No its not underhung. It is over like u suggest. If it gives me trouble i will try the T nuts. And if all else fails then there is the steel lol.
