Dont be sorry about the post mate you did mention 4wdriving. I lived in Bundaberg for about 7 years at a place called the "Hummock" it is the only little hill in Bundaberg towards bagara or the ocean. Work in Bundaberg can be interesting, try and get in with the sugar companies or Bundaberg Rum. You may find that the people are a little "Closed" what i mean is that Bundaberg at times can be a bit behind the 8 ball. The people at times like to look after their own so to speak, so go in their with a positive attitude and be prepared to get to know some over a long time. I don't know if there are mining companies up there mostly just sugar and rum. Try Gladstone if you want top dollar and people who are there just to work and earn money around you, there is alot more money and industry in Gladstone but it is know by the locals as Gotham City. As far as 4wdrinving is concerned Agnes Waters and 1770 offer a little nothing serious though, beautiful sandy beaches up there in the national park with no one on them generally. Try the national park south of bundy for some beach driving and camping. If you need a house built let me know we where in the building industry in bundy.

Hope all goes well

Thanks for your reply Turbo diesel!

I have been to the Hummock lookout , so know where your talking about ! I will try some of the local places whilst i am up there , i have been going to bubdy every year as my parents live at Moore park beach - LOVE bagara coral cove and areas as such. Just wanted to work out if i would be needing to keep my 4x4 - if there are no real challenging places close by , i may as well buy a standard car.

Think working at Bundy rum would be dangerous for me --- i would be to tempted to take a swim in the vats every lunch time ( i have done the tour ) hahaa kidding -- i will send my cv there also -- never know my luck

A few people have mentioned Gladston to me for work , so will seriously look at that. Not to fussed where i work or live - just looking for a new start or a sea change as it were.

thanks for your reply !

Hi Frank

Just to add a bit about beach driving in the Agnes area as far as I am aware beach driving is banned on all beaches in the Agnes area. You can drive on the beach at Rules Beach which is just to the south to get to a couple of camping spots.
I am based in the Gladstone area and yes there is quite a bit of work available up here. There is a lot of shut down work and I believe compainies are having difficulty obtaining good tradesmen for this type of work.
Best of Luck

Howard.
