Hello all. Notice that the northerly winds are blowing again over christmas, has anyone come back from fraser, could they let me know about the weed situtation and the new camping regulations. Any help appreciated, taking the new lux up the beach for the first time should be interesting to see how it goes?

I just got back from there. Spent 2 weeks there.

The weed are in patches. The worst is down near barge landing at hook point. The first km north from barge was very soft. I ended up putting my locker on to get to the barge. Lots of weed as well.

Up the island. There is weed in the surf. Just very small bits but spread out. just annoying for swimming.

You must prepay for camp permits. 5 major camp sites require these permits.
Central Station
Dundaburra
2 areas around indian head and Waddy point

You can pay over net and get your booking number.

Prepaid packs sit outside rainbow ranger office and fill in details your self. Don't forget your booking number as Rangers punch that number into their machine to check.

There is also a phone number you can call. Can't remember it. 13 13 xx. sorry.

Ring the ranger station at Rainbow. They had everything there.

There were heaps of 4b's heading up when we left. So good luck.

Got back last weekend. Didn't need any fuel over there, but saw 1.75 - 1.77 for diesel around the place. Orchid beach to Eurong.

Barge $70 for car + $40 for trailer from inskip, Manta Ray.

Aaron.
