Eric,
I have found the page slow to open. Might be the traffic or maintenance to the site.
They might have to build a M7 to speed things up a bit.
Off to the Snowy for 2 trips back to back, very popular 7 vehicles on the first trip and 9 on the second, then off to the
Vic High Country with 7 vehicles. I hope the rest of the year is just as busy not only for GDT but for all the other tour operators, last year was a bit average for us.

I have had that problem in the past and I think I overcame it by doing the following. (It worked but could have been coincidence LOL) delete your exploroz bar in your favourites column and go to your search engine and enter exploroz.com and when you get to the page you want, save to favourites. Just the same as saving any new favourite.

Hello Uncle Des
Yes I did that and it worked. Great minds think alike lol
How are you and the missus. Having a quiet festive season? We are. Just finished plastering the laundry wall. Always jobs to do.
Cheers

What page are you pointing at Eric? I navigate every section of the site from the desktop and favorites and have NEVER had any issues with using them. There is NO difference in launching the site from favorites or desktop - it is all just a URL to a location on the net regardless of how you get there. Actually when the error comes up send me a copy and paste from the address line of the browser I am interested in the hyperlink, as HTTP 500 means something to me. I did a mod the oterh day on Auto
Logon so this could be a new bug.
As for performance the system has been instant for the last week and traffic is down due to XMAS.

Hi David
I have had the same problem but have corrected it. I think the problem came up on Xmas Eve.
It is linkling to
Forum Index@ExplorOz out of Favourites.
I went into EO Home Page, then
Forum and then saved it to Favourites again, overwriting the previous link.
It works
well now.
Regards
Willem

Why did no one bother to email me - I missed the post all together (I think) and yes I had made several changes to the auto
logon system to deal with the collection of state information from visitors. This meant I needed to change all of the
logon and auto
logon code. I had no idea it was busted till I came in the next day (XMAS day) and found the fault. Please please please send us feedback or email about these problems - it should just work ok and if it does not please let me know.

Might be that, but might also be a "browser hijack". Would make it slow because its making you go to another site first (but you can't see it doing that) but that other site is down so you get that error
You can kill off most offending software using free software.
Get Spybot - HERE
(free)
Install it, make it update, and make it then search for problems on your computer.
It should find heaps, let it delete anything you don't specifically recognise (unless you use it to connect to your corporate network or for them to connect to you, in which case don't delete anything just yet, but make a list of any EXE's and I'll let you know which are safe to kill).
Good practice to run it every few weeks, we all pickup stuff when browsing the internet. Also make sure your Antivirus is up to date and set to scan at least once a week.
If there's a programmer or web designer who's also using/borrowing your computer there's another possibility...
Tom

You are right, you know. Thanks for the reminder
I always forget to run my Ad-aware but you reminded me and I have been able to delete 24 gremlins so far
Also running Microsoft Anti Spyware and Vet just in case.
Cheers

Using Mozilla or Firefox seems to bypass most gremlins but I had to refresh a few times just before Christmas from the normal Favourites....

Hi Eric,
If you still haven't sorted this then try this
Right click on your desktop and choose "New" then "Shortcut" then paste this into the field "
http://www.exploroz.com/Forum/Default.asp" click next and then give it a name. Click finish and your done.
Hope this helps.

Eric
Not to detract from the words of wisdom of those with a higher knowledge of computer workings than my self, may I respectfully suggest the following.
(1) In this instance forget Favourites, bomb off/delete ex-ox from same.
(2) Do what Mr Des Lezzie or what ever his name is suggested and find EX-OZ in/on a fresh search engine of your choice.
(3) Left click on the URL and drag it into/onto your browser 'links' toolbar.
(4) You can then move this link by grabbing it with the left mouse and move it anywhere you like on the toolbar that suits you.
This way it sits right in front of you everytime you open your browser and doesn't seem to be vulnerable to outside attacks/glitches etc etc.
and remember
Do what's right. Do it right. Do it right now.
