Just wondering if anyone had done the Eyre and Diamantena Development Roads (
Boulia to
Birdsville via
Bedourie) recently, and if so, what were the conditions like?
Any info appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Dennis

Hi Old Soldier
Use this site. Go to the "On the road" button at top of page. The Road conditions
Then Queensland and then Outback Qld.
All it says is that the roads are Open. I know that here is some bitumen between
Boulia and
Birdsville as the Councils are upgrading the road in patches. Normally the gravel roads are quite good.

G'day Dennis,
How's things? Was down in
Birdsville mid-November, and road between
Bedourie and B'ville is about 30% bitumen, 70% gravel. Gravel then was very good, but as there has been little or no rain to speak of since then, it may have started to powder up/corrugate.
Haven't been on Boulia/
Bedourie section for ages, but it must be almost bitumen 70%/Gravel 30%.
Temps in this area at present have been pretty ordinary, 42-45, but cloudy this morning, and we had 2.2mm last night
Regards,
Bob.
