Hi there,
I am interested in improving my 100 series V8 cruisers low end, fuel consumption and exhaust note and was wondering if there is anyone who may have done some mods to the std exhaust.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Steve

Depending on what you want to do, like just mod the stock exhaust buy removing the factory mufflers and replacing with a single straight thru muffler (Loud) or a cross-flow (Still has a exhaust note but will not attract the cop’s as much).
Or replace the whole system> Twin 2 ½ inch pipes from manifold running HY-flow cat’s and a single Straight thru Muffler per pipe, with tuned length Extractors (Optional)
Then you have to decide on Stainless steel or mild steel pipe
Stainless will cost a lot but last forever
Mild is a lot cheaper but will rust out over time.
Muffler’s I would go Lukey or Magnaflow, The Magna flow are form the U.S and have a nice note but are more expensive than the Lukey but the lukey’s are also good.

Hi Fozbear
Give
Beaudesert Exhausts QLD a ring , when they were fitting my exhaust we got talking, and in the conversation a system for a LC 100 V8 had just been made, 30-40% improvement performance, fuel cant remember. It was mentioned that the STD Exhaust manilfolds looked like they belonged on a aeroplane motor , bad air flow etc, etc, They fit them by going in behind the IFS thru the mudguard.
As for quality we haven;t had a problem or one rattle on our 4.2 Patrol not very noisy either. They send their exhausts anywhere so you might get someone else to fit it.
Hope this helps
Cheers Steve

A 30 to 40% improvement in either performance or economy sounds VERY GOOD.
If it is true someone should patent this system immediately.

I have a heavy vehicle and a considerable improvement just this week from a
Beaudesert system - as measured on acceleration 0 -> 100 kph which is good even at my level of 16%. The only difficulty was the OE nuts and bolts round the dump pipe. Every clamp and bracket fits to the cm. Its quiet too for my aging ears. Believe the muffler is straight through but the engine was hardly noisy with no muffler.
