One of the advertisers on ExplorOz is called North City Camper Hire and they advertise off road trailers, if you don't want the tent rig, maybe they'll give you a lower price.

Try kenards in balcatta rd, i've seen heaps of box trailers there or there is another hire mob just down the road from them
