My RD28 has developed a leak in the injector pump from behind the lock nut on the governer shaft. I see from the manual there is an O ring seal behind the lock nut. To save costs I want to replace the seal myself while the pump is still in place. Can I remove
the nut and replace the seal without inteferring with the setup of the pump? I have no special
tools to set the pump up again if the present configeration is lost. Can anybody help? Could this be a problem caused by the new low suplhur diesel now being supplied? Thanks, Sam.

SS,
Mate you hit the nail on the head regarding the low sulphur diesel most probably causing the leak.
If you have not the tools, or skills, to calibrate the pump if it goes wrong it may be better to have someone do it for you.
Ring around and ask what the dollars are and particularly if there are other o rings and seals that may fail as
well so as not have to do the job more than once.
Not much help
Steve

Sam.
The leaver has a spring conected to it, when you remove the cover just note how it is conected and unless you give the spring a big stretch you should be able to do the job ok. the o ring wears out on all models, so I dont blame the fuel. Eric.

Hello all again,
Surely someone has stripped an injector pump off an RD28? The seal I'm interested in is behind the lock nut on
the governor shaft at the front end of the pump. It is just above the main input shaft which is driven by the timing belt pulley. Can I remove the lock nut to replace the O ring seal without disturbing any of the pump settings? I'd really like to know --- please! Thanks Sam.
