I read with interest the AT tyre test in the monthly 4x4 magazine. Great test but I was confused on why Cooper gave then a ST-C tyre as an AT tyre when they have the new AT-R tyre??
Cooper advertise the ST-C tyre as a "special purpose" tyre and even say in their adds in the magazines that because of the softer compound (to minimize chipping) to not expect great mileage if used on roads (therefore not an AT tyre in my books).
Was Cooper afraid to have their new AT-R tyre tested against the rest? This is the way that I read it.
Before I start any arguments - I have Cooper tyres (2 x ST and 2 x ST-C) and are very pleased with them but I am not one-eyed either.

I agree with you Gossy - it would have been very interesting to see the performance of the Cooper ATR.

The thing I also wanted to know is what the puncture resistance figure was for the Toyo Opat (and why it was not provided).

I wondered that about the toyos myself. Although from experience it was propably because they punctured so easily a reading wasnt got off of the machine. I put them back on last night as i am going down the beach - I am taking 2 spares because from experience I may need them
