Howdy Hi,
I will be in
Perth in August as part of my 11 week Long Service Leave Tour, and I am trying to work out which is the best caravan park in
Perth. I will be staying in a cabin for a bit of comfort after 8 weeks in the camper, and before the trip
home via the Anne Beadell. Soft I know but so be it. I suppose I am after a CP with good facilities for 9 year old to have a ball, close to town and water and reasonably priced for a four night stay. Have looked at the following:
Perth International Tourist Park
Central CP
Karrinyup Waters Resort
Kingsway Tourist Park
Can anyone help me in this decision?
Cheers
Glenn

Stayed at Karinyup Waters in 2001. Quiet, Spotless amenities, flat grassy sites adjacent duck ponds. We were there in our camper trailer.

Stayed at Karrinyup in October last year for three weeks and it is one of the best parks in Aust let alone the west. You can catch the bus into
Perth right at the front
gate and also "The Red Bus" that tours
Perth on a daily basis. It is also handy to a couple of major shopping centers and the staff are most helpful. Enjoy your travels.

Hi Glen,
We have also stayed at Karrinyup Waters and would certainly vouch for it being one the very best CP I've ever stayed at - the lake with beautiful swans that love to be hand-fed is a highlight for
young and old! It is located near Balcatta which is north of the CBD tucked away in a residential area. Whilst we found it ideal as we needed a 2 week stay whilst house-hunting when we moved here in 2000, it isn't exactly near anything touristy so may not be as convenient as you had hoped. Kingsway is too far east, and I don't know the other 2 which probably means they are further south as I'm not that familar with the southern suburbs. I do know that we tried to stay at Woodman Point CP when we were travellers, before being residents of
Perth, but it was booked out. This would still be worth checking out as it is right on the beach just south of
Fremantle so there would be plenty to do. There is also a bus service that runs from Woodman Point to Freo which you might find useful.
Hope this helps!

Hi Michelle,
Thanks for the info, I am sure James will love feeding the birds, as
well as the beach.
Cheers

Hi Glenn,
I live in the Karrinyup Waters Estate (residential estate in Gwelup) and the KW caravan park is in a great location. I used to know the previous managers and the park is very
well maintained, has a great pool and is certainly one of the best CP's around. It's centrally located compared to the other parks and while I have not stayed at any CP in
Perth (funny that!!), it would be my first choice if I did.
Walk round for a beer one night when you get here!
Cheers
Captain

Try looking at Badgers Australian Caravan Park Reports on the web. The reports are from people who have stayed there and I have found them to be very usefull when planning trips.
Regards, Peter.

G'day Glenn
We stayed at Karrinyup Waters in August 2005 and, as said above, is clean and tidy. It would be great for your 9 year old with the ducks, swans and so on. From memory it had a fairly new play ground and the manager was quick on anyone exceeding the speed limit. Also I think there is a bus stop at the front
gate.
Safe travells
Jim-Bob.

Thankyou all for your responses, Karrinyup Waters is the obvious winner...hahahaha. Having read their website and all your responses, it looks and sounds like a top spot. Now I am looking forward to getting there....even though it is a long wait.
Cheers
