Have heard (not seen) of cast aluminium
camp ovens. Have the traditional cast iron and luv it. Interested in the alloy ovens purely because of the weight factor. Can anyone help with suppliers of these units?

Possibly - however Lance
Cairns was just to good with it, gave us Ozies a touch up on more than one occasion - could be why they (alloy bats) aren't around anymore.

Dont recall LC using one just a shoulderless GM bat giving the Ausies stick in a one day final in 83
AFAIK the Aluminimum bat didnt lkast long as Lillee faced a few balls and after complaints the umpire made him change it
-Will stand corrected-

My failing memory tends to agree with Davoe. As far as I can recall that was the only appearance of an aluminium bat in an international one dayer (against the Poms, I think???)
Could be totally wrong though :))))

Traka,
I have had my aluminium c/oven since about mid 70`s . have 4 other cast iron of various sizes but the 12" aluminium is my favorite when only cooking for 1-4 people. Nice and light for the c/van and just about unbreakable.
There is a chap in
Bendigo Victoria who was selling them at the sunday market a while back (2-3 months ago) I will see if I can track him down if you wish.
Cast into the lid of
mine is " 12" alumask
camp oven & universal cooker "
cheers

stuffed if I'd
cook in aluminium, that'll frazzle your brain, use steel, stainless or cast.

Agree with Mad Dog - I am sure research indicates that Altzheimers may be linked to Aluminium
cook pots - now what was I just doing ?
