We bought our terrano 11 early 2005 and have received same opinion from other 4wd owners (not a real fourby) however we love it after a recent trip to North Straddie we have made a decision on a lift kit, new shockies, tyres, old man emu shocks have been recomended. Does anyone have any ideas? We are thinking bigger tyres 31/10.5/R15. Would like to hear from shaker who posted a relpy to terrano tripper 3/04/05 and receive photos of his set up. re snorkel, dual batteries etc. Have any T11 owners ever got together re problems etc?

Give me your email address!
The only problem that I have had is overheating in extreme conditions, I believe this to be an inherent problem that can't really be overcome.

I put a brand new radiator in mine as the old one split. It's not perfect but better than it was.
As for problems and additions, I had a thread going over on the Overlander forum.
31" tyres should fit, just. I run 30" and there would be no problems (other than possible dept of transport restrictions) on fitting 31" tyres under there.
I have gone taller H/D rear springs that have made the vehicle handle a load a lot better. I had Rancho shocks, but they died in 18 months, now running Old Man Emu and they are great. A little stiff, but I used to drive a Sierra, so anything is an improvement.

210000k and still going strong.

Still to get a snorkel….one day

Hey Terrano II owners.

I used to have one then didn't.

Reshaping my current 4by's shelf system i found my long lost genuine Nissan TII unsed (1) Fan belt and (2) Power steering belt. This was from a petrol model but suppose no diff to a diesel.

So who wants 'em. No value to me anymore so as a measure of good faith to the forumites of this good forum if you can prove to me you got a TII then you can have 'em. Naturally i prefer not to incur cost of mailing them so I live in West End in brisbane.

email me at "myredcar@hotmail.com" first in first serve.

me again, no-one has taken up my offer so as i hate to see waste I will mail them out from work (using their post) to whoever as i looked at them again last night and they weigh bugger all and are still in their Nissan cardboard wrappers.

C'mon guys, this should be an essential set for a vehicle as old as yours when heading out.

Free i say, FREE (email me at myredcar@hotmail.com)

porl

What are the chances of the belts fitting a T1 diesel?
Not great I suppose.

i really dunno sorry.

The T1 was a japanese import (nothing against them) whereas the TII was a Nissan import. The TII diesel are great vehicles and well underated. My brother in the army used them in Kosovo as troop (small numbers) carriers. Cause of their narrowness their ability to navigate goat tracks was preferred to the wider vehciles. THey also had great blown bridge fording ability cause the top entrance to the air filter is more than half way up the drivers side roof support which is why there's not much point in putting in a snorkel.

The engine is totally different to the TI, in fact the 4 cylinder intercooled TD has hight torque AND power figures than the 2.4L petrol model.
