Hi today I got an old fridge from an import bus from japan but it runs on 24volts. I know it is a long shot but I wonder if you can change 24volts to 12volts?? If not, I know you can put 2 batterys it series to get 24volts but my truck runs on 12volts so I cant charge them while moving. It is a great old(15years) fridge. Any ideas????? Thanks Deano.

Are you sure it only runs on 24v? Current Engels run on 12v or 24v.

is this a compressor fridge or a thermo fridge?
was thinking of making an inverter 12 -> 24v @ 6 Amps.
still playing with the idea. Hard part is the transformer.
Techie.

You might have to get it translated but I think they would be rated at about have the current rating of the fridge the same size in 12v so if you get that info you can get a 12-24 power supply to suit or else take it to an engel repairer and get the motor change to a 12v one it might not be that expensive if he has a secondhand one kicking around.
