Why are the Japs following each other in design looks? You have to look at the badges to tell them apart,(
Well almost). Cars the same , early holdens , Fords, Chryslers Pommy stuff, poles apart. Nice to have something with its individual look, like my beloved defender.
Cheers Axle

Probably because there are secret underhand deals being done behind closed doors.
The accessory manufacturers are trying to dupe the manufacturers into making everything bland, so we will have to go out, and spend say... $8000.00 on accessories, to make our vehicles individual.
Bit like humans I guess. All got two legs & two arms, but hey, the clothes doth tell them apart, don't they...
Nah.... dunno.... but you get my vote, they DO look all the same don't they.

They may all look the same, but at least us "average size" (read "huge") guys can drive them without being a contortionist.
Happy trails, mike.

Defender isnt individual, it looks like every other 1960s 4WD design.

whats wrong with a toyota or a patrol? After seeing the new Nissan Navara i felt like toyota and nissan designed the two vehicles together. I don't think anyone wants to design another defender though????

Nothing wrong with that Andrew. Defenders look as distinctive today as they did then and they go good in the rough as
well.
Wouldn't change
mine (the
cook wouldn't let me anyway) but you can drive anything you like, most LR drivers don't care what others drive.

Andrew I think your out of line here dude.
They pay ~$50k for something that cost <$1000 to design 45 years odd ago, and as they are saying, it hasnt changed. You still dont even sit in the middle of the wheel and has poor build quality (look along the panels on one where all the rivets are)!

Medication time for all of us know doubt, but seriously paying 50 grand for a 4wd to find the oppositions car is the same is a little frustrating. What would make it easier is if they all used the same diffs and box's transfercaes etc, that way we would never run out of spare parts. Axel is correct too the jap vehicles look alike, they are getting like holdens and fords. At the end of the day we all get screwed over when buying a new car. Pays to hold to old won and keep it running
well. Cheers to all.

I asked the same question a few years ago of a mate of
mine who works at GMH - the answer was because they all use similar computer software - the result - designs generally look very similar.
Not sure how much truth there is in that - but I'm sure theres some.
