Hi Pop,
Not sure what you mean by 'drive belt'. From memory I had a timing belt replaced at about the 50K service on my vehicle (2000 Frontera V6). I think it was about $150 on top of the service.
I'm interstate at the moment but can
check my log book and receipts when I get
home at the end of the week if you like.
Regards,
Benn

If you mean the serpentine belt, it's easy to change. I did
mine with no problem (at around 70,000k, 4.5 years).
You just need to put a socket on
the nut on the tensioner pully and push in the appropriate direction to release the tension on the belt, and off she comes.
Place the new belt on in reverse sequence and release the tensioner again with the socket and slip the belt over. It's a bit harder than taking the old one off because the new belt is a little stiffer and has slight memory from the way it is folded when you get it. I paid about $70 for the belt from East Coast Auto Spares in
Melbourne.
Oh, and make a little diagram of how it goes over all the pulleys before you remove the old one, this will save you a potential headache and a half :)

Oops, forgot to add
mine is a 3.5 litre Jackaroo but I think your belt would be the same.

Thanks for your reply, I did have a bit of a play and thought and did push the tentioner down by hand but wasn,t to sure I will try it tonight. Thanks for the idea about the diagram I had thought of that was going to take a photo.
