I am about to buy a new fridge and would like the Explorer DC70 but fear it won't fit in the Patrol. I have a set of home made drawers about 300+ high. I have external dimensions of fridge and it looks like it will fit but be tight. I won't be able to open the fridge inside the car which is no big deal.

Does anyone have this fridge? Anyone have it in a Patrol GU? I'd Love to see pics of it in any 4b.

Hi David, I have a DC 70 however it's in a Patrol GU ute, sorry don't have any pics. Don't know if this is any help , when we picked fridge up the guy at Explorer , Steve I think his name is showed us his set up in the back of a 100 LC, and the fridge was on a slide, I don't think he had draws though,in any case they will be able to tell you what make of slide suits, may allow you to slide out and be able to open. I wouldn't like to be lifting the fridge in & out of the back of your wagon to often especially full. Have only had the fridge since sep 05 , went to Cenrtal Qld at xmas 40 + deg most days, worked excellent , was able to make ice cubes for drinks, only had freezer on '3' had fridge on '5-6'.

Cheers , Guy.

Thanks for tat. Spoke to the manufacturers earlier and they seemed to think it won;t fit but the measurements say it will. Just not sure if I should just go for the smaller fridge- it is pretty big anyway.

We only went for the DC 70 because room wasn't an issue, the 56 is a good size.

Hi David ,
When I saw your post , I went to the Explorer website and had a look . I was very surprised to see that mounting it in the dust on the draw bar of trailer works OK .
Must be one tough bit of gear .
Cheers ,
Willie .
