We are purchasing a Galaxy Family van and will be travelling around OZ 4 six months with 2 children. Should we buy a battery pack for the van given that we will be mainly staying in caravan parks?

Yep. Very handy. Or have a second battery fitted. You may be staying at van parks, but extra 12 volt backup lets you have long stops beside the road and run equipment without flattening main battery. Have fun!

We bought a battery for our van. It gives us the freedom to
camp anywhere if, for some reason, we can't or don't want to overnight in a caravan park. A few nights without CP fees will soon pay for the battery.
Stephen.

Thanks Rod,
How much did it cost?
We have been quoted $800 to put a battery pack in the caravan. Are you suggesting dual batteries in the car?
Regards
Peter

It cost me about half to have the dual battery set up in the car, including the battery
I used the "all about 12V " people in Auburn NSW , just off Parramatta road
it uses a smart relay , plus a lot of wires etc ,that when your car battery is charged it then charges your 2nd battery
all about 12v sells the cable and fittings and crimps them free for you , also has a very clean circuit diagram
worked for me
Another benefet is you have a battery you can jump start your car from if you car battery goes flat
