One of may mates at work works 6 months in OZ and 6 months in Germany/Switzerland. Single of course.
He was saying that these types of rigs are the big thing to do in Germany.
A lot of them are taken to north africa, and obviously are being taken further.
Quite a few web pages in Germany on them.
My mate is amazed in the ski resorts where he works, just how much money is around. There are a lot of people who have investments and old money that just travel most of the time, and do any business required over the phone or by internet.
Different world.

Cant top that one (yep, a bit envious too) but in the late 70's was camped with father in law at
Menindee during flood time. Catching heaps of yellowbelly virtually at our feet we were surprised one morning to hear a vehicle coming up from the flooded
Pooncarie direction. When it finally arived it was a 6x6 "Pinzgoer"? with a trailer also driven via a prop shaft. This was an awsome rig owned by a German couple who had brought it over from Europe (l/h drive) and were on a world trip. When we asked about the "road" conditions, they laughed and replied "oh - up to a metre or more, I suppose!" For a 100km. bloody hell!
They were a lovely couple, probably late 50's, camped with us and really enjoyed the feed of yellowbelly FIL cooked up. Had they stayed another day a
camp oven meal of pinkies would have been enjoyed too.
As you say Rockcrawler, what a life.
