Navara steering.

Brothers late 1990's model Navara duel cab has a problem with the steering. Nearly ever time he takes it out of 4WD and unlocks the hubs it pulls to the left for about 50 - 100ks then just stops pulling. Occasionally it will start pulling to the left without being in 4WD or the hubs being locked but it is nearly always straight after being off road.
Has anybody come across this before or have any idea what could cause it. We've checked out all the usual front end things but everything appears to be okay.
Any and all help would be appreciated.

Try unlocking hubs and backing up a few metres before taking off,sounds like left hand hub is not disengaging.
