Hi,
We have a Troopy and I was just wondering if anyone else has had a 3rd door or some sort of side access added to their vehicle whether it be a troopy or other 4wd. Also others with Troopies, can you provide some ideas into storage systems for the back of the troopy?
Thanks Mel and Gav

3-door 'cruiser troopy conversion by Polans (tel: 9794 0626) will set you back about $4200+/- for the door +$250+/- for an engineer's certificate. It's a fibre-glass door, felt very solid, and fitted the lines of the vehicle beautifully. Polans say they have done 45 conversions in the last two and half years.

will get link

Doing the same at the moment and got some good ideas from yahoo troopy forum. Thought about the 3rd door from Polans but too expensive.

Hi Mellie,
I saw what I consider to be the best body conversion on a Troopy at the Melbourne 4WD show last year. It was on a vehicle ownd by the Michelle Sachs people.(They make cannvas car seat covers anmd other smart things). The troopy had gull wing side doors , two on each side. I can't give you any more details than that but someone else may be able to.

Hi,
Thanks for the responses. I have seen pics of the Michelle's Sacs troopy and droolled over the paintwork alone. The side 'wings' is exactly what I would like on our troopy. I know her troopy was an ex telstra vehicle and that's probably why there's only a few around like that. I have searched the net and cannot find anyone who does this sort of modification. Polans are over east so that makes it difficult. If any one knows someone in WA that can do these sort of mods I would appreciate any info. Thanks

There are a number of body builders in WA that can do side door conversions, just look them up in the phone book

Hi everyone,

Once again thanks for your responses.

I noticed WheelTravel posted a follow up asking if Michelles Sacs is owned by Explor Oz. That is not correct. Michelles Sacs is owned and run by Shane and Michelle Miles.

I have checked out some body modification businesses. I had quotes for a third door at about $7500 and wing doors, just on one side, to be around about the same, if not more... In case anyone was after these at least you know the approx figure you could be up for. Most body modifiers stick to Ute conversions but its jsut a matter of calling around.
Thanks,
Bye
