G'day all
Just wondering if there is any problem with the fitting and use of 265/70 R16 tyres on 6 inch rims. The intended use for the wheels will be for a camper trailer, not a vehicle.
Regards
Darren.

Darren,
The tyre is too fat for the rim. It will fit up, but won't be "legal" as the 265/70R16 are supposed to go on 7-8inch rims. Up to you as to whether thats a concern. I did it by accident once, and the tyre looked "OK".
Cheers

G'day Phil
Thanks for your reply. You have confirmed my suspicions in regard to the legality of this rim and tyre combinaton. The rims I have are Prado rims which I bought sight unseen and at the time I did not realize some Prado models came out with 16x6 inch wheels.
Live and learn I quess.
Regards
Darren.

Dazz,
You can find and fit some second hand 235/85R16's to those rims and use them on the trailer. They are a touch taller than your 265/70R16 and are the same diameter as the 265/75R16 that a lot of people fit to the 90series Prados.
Cheers
Phil
