Just a moment here, are you saying Switzerland is even more policed than Vic - WOW must be a great place to live? I thought VIC had more speed cameras per linear meter set at the lowest tolerence in the world.

>From Switzerland. Land of the police.

Isn't it just. Victoria really annoys me in this regard but compared to Switzerland our Political Correctness (and police) are just beginners (which is why it's so damned important we FIGHT IT - see another thread). Haven't lived there Andy but I've been there a few times - good move coming to Oz - although Switzerland does have some beautiful scenery.

Welcome - there is so much which is positive about Australia and it's people it far outweighs the negatives. Take you're time getting to know us.

PS. (But I'm sure you've heard it :)

Heaven is:

An English policeman
A French chef
A German engineer
An Italian lover
and everything organised by the Swiss

Hell is:

An English chef
A French engineer
A German policeman
A Swiss lover
and everything organised by the Italians

Travelled around Oz for a couple of months.
People really friendly,chatty,generous.
Lots to do. More than Switzerland that's for sure.
Freedome to go where u please - within reason of course!
Which is why I'll be buying a 4x4 and camping/touring when I can.
I didn't think the cameras were such a problem ?
And beleive it or not but the standard of driving is infinitly better in Oz than the Swiss muppets I have to deal with!!
Plus the Oz girls smile :o)

There are many things that could be improved in this country. But its the best country in the world to live. How do I know that ? Well the fact that I can post my opinion without fearing a knock on the door in the middle of the night is a pretty good start , don't you think ?
