G'day smegzy,
Probably not cost-effective to convert a vehicle that's in good condition (body-wise, as well as mechanically), but I reckon if one could find a late model, low K vehicle that's been in a roll-over or extensively hail-damaged, & with good running gear (& a straight chassis) at the *right price*, then it would be a very worthwhile proposition....
(might hafta "keep an ear to the ground";-)))
Brand-new fully galvanised body = *no rust*, & quite a bit more interior space than your standard 'Trol as well (going by their published dimensions).... Good time to think about that 6.5 Chev as well;-)))

In fact, the more I think about it..........................................

Same thought Ed, saw a gq patrol ,wagon, petrol ,auto with roll over damage but still drivable, went for about $1800 at auction .. plus 12k for the chev, 17-19k for the kit starts looking like 40k vehicle. But it would be pretty awsome !!!!

Have you seen one in person ? I would like to see how much bigger they are that the patrol body.
