Has any Prado owners upgraded their
suspension with an aftermarket kit i.e like an ARB
suspension kit ?
I would like to know how the vehicle handles both on and offroad and the extra clearance gained.
Thanks

Rob, I am also interested in an aftermarket
suspension kit, but unlike you, I don't need any extra ground clearance as I am using my Prado as a tow vehicle, but am interested in better ride/handling. So I will be interested in you replys. regards Mario

4WD Monthly did an article on a Prado with
suspension mods two or three months ago. I think it was owned by one of the contributing photographers. See if you can get hold of the article from them.

Rob, i upgraded my prado's
suspension about three years ago, after the common sagging of the original
i choose OME from ARB in Osborne PK the lift is aprox 50 mm wich is about the most that u can give without experiencing problems with the front shafts,Im extremely happy with the set up,the handling is superior both on and off road it is the best vehicle upgrade I highly recommend it
cheers

Rob, I upgraded my Prado last year with a Series 2000
suspension kit. It lifted the car 50mm, which to me was more than adequate. I've done several 4WD trips last year and this year, all excellent handling, etc. However, I did a 7 day Victorian High Country in April this, and one of front CV joints snapped. I'm not sure if that is because of the upgrade, or manufacture fault (only 112,000 K on the clock). Perhaps someone can give me an idea - johnf@idx.com.au Cheers
