i might just head straight to karumba, as i can get into there sooner[feb/march], but if work commitments delay my fun[dont they always], a trip north later may eventuate. the solitude of lakefield apeals more ....[.not towing anything]

russ36,
Phone number for Lakefield rangers = (07) 4060 3271.
Phone number for Cooktown rangers + (07) 4069 5777.
Both numbers are current as i have rang each of them in the last fortnight.
Cheers,
Bros.

thanks fellas, its nice to be able to have a definite yes/no as is the case when there is a gate involved, rather than an estimated time that the park might be ok in certain areas if you are carefull....hard to makle plans with loose info.will have to get on the phone to get an approximate time frame from the ranger stations. thanks again, russ
