Hi Jackson84,

I have had mine since May 2003, and overall have been extremely happy with the vehicle.

Without knowing your specific requirements, I can make the following comments:

- Drivers comfort - excellent
- Rear Set Room - Poor (but all dual cabs are small i guess)
- Load carrying capacity - at best about 400kgs
- Towing - I have pulled 2.5 tonne trailer easily
- Engine - Bulletproof and heaps of power
- Gear ratios - High range is excellent, low range even better than my Patrol
- Fuel Ecomony - Average 10 - 12 litres per 100km depending on usage, overall very happy
- Suspension - Could probably do with aftermarket shocks, but more than adeqaute for off road use

Anything else, please shoot me a message, or email me at tonygrey60.at.hotmail.com

Thanks

TonyG

G'day Jackson84,
I have had mine since April 2002.
Have had no problems with it at all.
Agree with everything Tony has said.

GGday Jackson 84,,,Tony has about said it all. I have had mine since new 03 dual cab with a Flexiglass canopy on the tub,but I made the mistake of only gettting a lift up door on the left hand side, you realy need them on both sides. I ordered mine with a extra leaf in the rear springs and this improved the load carrying capacity no end. We tow a 20 foot caravan about 2.5 Ton with an average fuel consumption of 16Ltr per 100K. The vehicle performs great in sand with plenty of power but having had a GU Patrol before I find the comfort factor a little lacking on long trips compared to the GU,but then i am a big bloke.
The only fault if you can call it that,is that you get heaps of dust in under the canopy when traveling on dirt. The slide windows in the front of the canopy when opened do help but dont stop it all. They are a great little vehicle and a good all round 4x4.. Regards Nav.

Have owned 03 & now presently own 05 (both 3.0LTD). Suspension and seat comfort better in 05. Nissan must have done some things to the 05 motor as it does not go as well as the 03 model .I suspect the 05 model is not a true 110kw as stated.
Other than this i am very happy. Tow camper trailer , carry trailbikes in back etc

You have opened a can of worms with this one, good vehicle bad vehile, the opinions are all out there. Personally i would not buy one, mechanicaly there reputation is suffering, its as simple as that. However i'm not going to suggest an alternative so that there are no ongoing thread discussions. If you have to buy one i would get a new one as nissan are doing great deals on them at the moment due to the new model. $35,000 drive away with an ABN. Moreovere this will drop the resale value of the existing ones down to about $30,000 with about 20-40 kms on them. If you buy one make sure you get one under warranty and pay the money for the extended 5 year warranty, that way if your motor blows up you will be covered. Nissan make good cars in general if you want to have one with good reslae however you may have to consider another brand to keep the feeling!!!!!
