Did anybody read the article in the SMH ? I think the model was FJ-40 , but I could be mistaken . It looked pretty big and yet it is based on Prado bits .I wonder if it has the same width track as a Prado .

My wife has wrapped some rubbish up in the article and for some reason it does not appear on their webpage . I do not remember there being too many facts in the article , it was pretty lightweight which is consistant with their anti 4WD stance .

BUT there was photos and it looked big and boofy .

Yes saw that it was a new model now available in the US, was a show car a while back. Aimed at the younger set, blue in colour, grille was the same as a 40 but the rest was all new but as you say based on something else in the lineup.
do a search there is a website about it

They would make a fortune out that, would not have to re-tool just pull the old 40 series dies out of storage and of they go, saved a $hit load of money in the set up. LOL

Mate,

That Fj-40 concept that's going into production in the states is based on the short-wheel bases current shape Prado which we don't get here in OZ, and it's only on sale in japan and england as far as i know. It'd be a nice rig if they brought it here but I reckon it'd eat into the other 4x4 that toyotas got here.
