A mate of
mine has a 03 navara with the zd30 turbo engine. The engine got dusted some how and began to knock. I organized a wrecking yard in
Adelaide to fit a second hand motor which was out of a patrol same year. They put the two motors side by side and they have a different bolt pattern for the gearbox!!. None available in
Adelaide so its coming from
Melbourne. Just thuoght others might like to know before they go to the trouble.

An '03 Navara would still be under warranty unless it was Jan '03, or had done more than 100,000km's. Even then you could buy another 2yrs and 50,000 for about $900.
Interesting that the gearboxes don't match up though.
Aaron.

Navara has done 150k so no warranty but we did try!! It was not really a mechanical fault it just wore out real quick due to dusting.

Hmmmm,,nearly had a bad turn when I read that post, but if the engine was dusted
well thats not the engines fault. I would say warranty would be out of the question also. Nav.

Dusted is when an engine suxs in a lot of dust either from a intake hose coming off or leaking vacuum or the air cleaner not being serviced regularly. Also if the air cleaner is damaged or not sealing. Not sure what caused this one but it may be lack of mantenance. Dont get me wrong I dont blame Nissan or the ZD30 engine just wanted to let people know that for some reason the Navara and Patrol use a diferent engine!!!
