Hi all

Just wondering what the forumites have done to carry an outboard tank on the camper trailer. i have carried mine on the top but am worried it might move about a bit (has vibrated around and marked things before). My Jerry holders are usually empty as I don't need to carry fuel due to the 180l capacity of my vehicle.

Has anyone either converted a plastic Jerry can to allow an outboard to run from it or got a custom tank built to fit in there? How much am I looking at? Is aluminium up to the shaking?

Thanks in advance

Terry

Gday Terry

You can buy a kit that screws onto the top of a plastic jerrycan which is fairly neat. From memory they were about $55.00, which I thought was a bit pricey when you can buy a tank for around that. I think it would be pretty easy to make one for less if you had the time.

Cheers Andrew

An alternative is to use a "rubber"fuel cell. The military use them. I had 2, one was about 25 litres and the other maybe 50 litres. They collapse to flat when empty of course.
