100 series transmission whine

i seem to have a whine at about 95/klm in 5th when the gearbox is hot , the car has only done 30 k and nearly out of warrenty,anybody had similar problems or any gearbox problems with their cruisers,and any way to improve thepower without a turbo ,it seems rather gutless,worse then the 80series ivehad for 15 yrs
