G'day Steve
If you can afford it put a after market turbo on. It will be so much easier in the long run i have a ct 20 on my 3l and there is bit of work involed, you have to put the oil return line into the top of the sump get custom oil lines made it, get the EIF part of the air inlet modified, new exhust, silcone hoses, and get your fuel pump tune for the turbo. so at the end of the day you will only save about $100
so go after market

G'day steve,

yeah you can take the sump off without removing the motor drop the oil out and remove all the bolts and then the difficult bit is break the sump seal from the engine block once thats done you will need to weld in the drain above the oil level.

If you would like photo's please leave PM me.
