Anyone done the trip from Googs Lake to
Lake Everard and across to Mount Ives?
If so when, & what was the track like?
Just trying to work out what fuel economy will be like.
Thanks in advance.

Dave,
It was 8 years ago when we did that track, and it was in quite good condition.
There were a couple of tight turns over dunes just after the lakes.
We had to gain permission from
Lake Everard Station to make the trip through.
At the time there was a team of people doing gold exploration in the area, and they were using the old Childara Outstation. You pass through the front yard of this outstation on your way through.
Childara Rockhole is also on the track, along with some smaller rocky features before the
dog fence.
All in all the track is a good one, (or was) and depending on the direction you are travelling from you should have enough fuel.
We filled up at
Tarcoola (was still operating then) and didn't require any more until we arrived at Mt Ive.
Good luck,
Geoff.

Managed to get permission and did this track in October. The track is no probs, basically a dirt road, but you need to get permission and it is generally not given. A few bad cases have ruined it for the masses.

Plenty of corrugations on the
Googs track side of the
Lake Everard station fence. Fuel consumption should be OK though.
