Greetings Earthlings,
It's taken awhile, but I finally did it; got my membership card coming soon:))))
Anyway, does anyone know which if any camper trailer manufacturers will be at the Gold Coast Caravan,Camping and 4wd Show on the 17th,18th and 19th of March as we are looking at buying one in the near future. Would probably like to buy Qld made, so we can get it back to them if anything goes wrong.

Welcome Greg.

I see with your membership that Qld have now relegated Vic to fourth spot in the Membership Count Stakes.

Good morning Earthlings,
We QLD's are growin' day by day.( out as well, too much good food and wine)
Thanks Brian, we are looking at coming down to the coast to have a good look around. We started looking at soft floor c/t's, then when the price started to balloon, we looked at hard floor c/t's, and for us to get what we want we're looking at $40K. So we have done some serious thinking and prioritising and budgeting!!,and we are probably going back to a soft floor, unless by some miracle they drop their prices. For $40 big ones we can get a really good soft floor, update the really old box trailer and do a few things to the Terracan.(+have a holiday :))))
The weight of some of the big hard floor c/t's are up over a ton and one I know of is around 1.3T, empty. We've got a 05 CRDI Terracan auto, and this will tow these around N/P and most places, but we want to use it on Fraser Island, where weight is a big factor. We try to go for 2 wks at a time.

G'day Greg,

Don't forget the Brisbane 4x4 show a couple of weeks later.

April 7-9, RNA showgrounds. How ever many campers there are on the coast, I'd expect many more in Brissy.

Aaron.

Hi Greg,

After relocating to QLD, I started doing the same thing, ie looking for a camper trailer.

I did a lot of hunting around, and ended up going with Customline Camper trailers.

Hopefully the link below will work.

Custonmline Camper Trailers

I got them to put a tent on my exisitng trailer, but they can supply trailer and tent as complete package if required.

I ended up purchasing the following configuration

- 12 ft tent option
- full annex walls and flyscreens (zipper on & off)
- extra windows

I would highly recommend them, as they produce a very good quality product. For $10K, you can have a really top setup, and not spend the high dollars you were talking about

Hope this helps

There will be so many CT's there your head will be spinning. A number of Qld manufacturers. One is Australian Off Road Campers from Caloundra, who make the Odyssey. But there will be heaps of others.

I'll be there (with Brian) at the 4B track. Drop in and say hi!
