One day I will have to swallow my pride and actually go to one of these things. I object in principal to having to pay to go into what is basically a shop. Any new stuff would have appeared in magazines and you can go to the agent to see it. I suppose if you are genuinely looking for something rather than tyre kicking you can do comparisons as long as all the brands you want are there.

Are the discounts offered genuine or could you get the same deals anyway with a bit of bargaining...... if you could sell it to my mate at that price at the show you can sell it to me at the same price, or I won't bother.

I share your views there greydemon. The exhibitors pay to show off their wares and the punters pay to see them. It seems that the organisers of these shows like a bet each way, to rake in as much money as they could possibly rip off people.
And its not cheap (to me) to go to these shows. I think most people would not grumble to part with a nominal entrance fee of 5 dollars but over twice that is a bit steep IMO. Last 4WD/camping show I saw in Burswood dome was a waste of money.
