OK Queensladers here's your chance, I'm trying to put together a BBQ day where some of us can put faces to screen names. My thoughts were to make it on the last weekend in Feb (either Sat 25th or Sun 26th) depending on how many can make it either day.
Venue is still up for discussion (again depending on where the takers are from), but initially I thought about the park down at Jacobs
Well. This is 1/2 way between G/Coast and Brissy for the uninitiated.
This would be a BYO in all aspects, but if your a bit short that week I'm sure I could organise a few waters for you. Beer, at the rate most QLD'rs drink it at, would overload my bus and make it overheat on the way, so this is out of the question.
Hoping to get a few responses fairly quickly so I can make a final decision on where and what day (Sat or Sun), so I can put up an official Gathering on the Gathering page.
Cheers till we meet, Trevor.

Two other venue's that have been suggested have been Daisy
Hill State Forest or the Old Fort at Lytton. Any comments or suggestions on another venue would be taken into consideration.
Cheers Trevor.

Trevor, at this stage we ( the family ) would love to come and meet some other members. Jacobs
Well sounds great but the other venues would be just as good. Sunday would probably suit us better but we could be flexible.
( can you throw a line in at Daisy
Hill? ) I don't think so.

Hi Rob,
The fishing and swimming was the main reason for suggesting Jacobs
Well.
I'll keep you posted as to where and when.
Cheers Trevor.

Now that hardly seems fair.... if you had have made one for the
Cairns region 2 weekends ago, I'd have been there (just because I was up there for work makes no difference at all).
Are you telling me if I make it for around
Rockhampton or Mackay, you"d be there ???
Have fun in the tropics.
Regards Trevor.

You've already seen my ugly mug but I think we could be there on the Sunday. Jacobs
Well sounds good as we might even bring the boat down.

Hi Tim,
I had a feeling Jacobs
Well on the Sunday would fit the bill for most.
Your "ugly mug" is welcome around any barbie I'm at. I will put an official gathering up on the notice board by tomorrow, but I think it's fair to say it will be at Jacobs
Well on Sun 26th Feb.
Look forward to seeing you and the family there.
Best regards Trevor.

Hey how are you going Brett?
I have been flat chat the last two weeks with stuff and then add on that a friend (more sister really) is in the process of moving house so I have been doing that also. And then after 7 years I knew it was time to close the door on my job, did so and took another one, did not get paid what I was told. I may as
well have been working in a sweat
shop with the money I got, so now I am looking for a new job also, a little scary when you leave something that you know and have done for the last 7 years. But we'll see what happens!!!! It can only be good!
I am packing now as we are heading off for camping this afternoon, friends of ours have been harassing us to take them camping, so this weekend it is.
You have a good weekend!

Don't worry Jo,
I wouldn't have left you guys out of
the loop. An email would have given you the details when I was more certain of time and place.
See you down there next Sunday.

Then I might actually get sleep! I don't seem to get too much of it at all now. Mind you in his defence.. his mum is a shocker to and gave him these drops that she bought from the chemist, the last two nights I have gotten more than 3 hours sleep!

Hi Greg,
Don't worry about not meeting any of us before, it was only 3 or 4 weeks ago that 5 of us met for the first time as
well. The crew that I have met so far are great people, I will look forward to seeing you on the Sunday down at Jacobs
Well as this sounds like the day and venue that everyone is OK with.
I'll put up an official Gathering by tomorrow with all the directions and details.
Look forward to meeting you, regards Trevor.

G'Day Trevor,
Sounds like a plan...
I live at Daisy
Hill so that's obviously my preffered venue but Jacobs
well is good.
May I suggest a third venue, just to muddie the water?
Mt Mee day use area. It's in the
Brisbane Forest park and there are some good tracks around for those who wish to do little wheelin..
Whatever you choose I'll be there..
Cheers.....

Hi
John,
Mt Mee was on the short list but it looks like most people consider Jacobs
Well to be an OK venue for the Sunday, so I'll confirm this by putting up a gathering for this venue later on today.
Jo and Mark, the Pajero Country is not limited to Daisy Hill/Crestmead area as I'm sure you are finding out with each trip you do.
Will look forward to seeing you all at Jacobs
Well.
Regards Trevor.

Very tempted. Good on you for trying.
Will check with SWMBO.
But I think Saturday suits us best, Sunday already booked with a late afternoon BBQ and church in the morning. A couple of beers and some company to start the afternoon would be great.
And I have some painting to do, it might get forgotten.
If you are talking lunch time / early afternoon Sunday, it may work for us.
Live southside Brisy,
John & Colette.
Will get back to you.

Hi
John and Colette,
Unfortunately (or fortunately for the painter in the house) most people seem to agree that Sunday is a preferred day and Jacobs
Well to be a preferred venue, so I'll confirm this and put up a gathering for this place.
I would think that a lunch time barbie would suit most but I would make a day of it and be there most of the day so by all means just drop in even for a short time as it looks like there will be a few there. ( now I've said that, I'll be there on my robinson cruesoe and look like a tool.....hahaha)
Till Sunday or some other time soon, take care.
Regards Trevor.

HI Andrew,
I also am a northsider and would have prefered the venue to be on the northside but you would have to fight Sunday arvo traffic it the venue were to far north (and we all know how bad that can be).
Besides it looks like the majority of people live over the southside so lets keep it close for the masses this time. (we'll just have our own northside bbq later)
Look forward to meeting you Sunday, Regards Trevor.

Hi Trev,
Sunday arvo traffic was shocking a couple of weeks ago (Urgh!) took hrs to get back
home, and we'll do it again this weekend (DOH!).
Don't know what time you intend on getting down there, but we'd be happy to tag along.

Maaaaate,
Sunday sounds the G.O. Down at Jacobs
Well as a few seem ok with this. I'll put up a gathering this arfternoon (read, night, by the time I knock off).
Sorry Perry, no tracks to get lost in down there unless you want to show Tim which way to go in his boat (I believe it is a maze of tributaries down that way).
Talk soon over a snag or two on Sunday.
Best Regards Trevor.
