Hi All,
Just come back from Wandin show. Been looking for a storage system and been scaredby $2500plus boxes!

Seems like most of the good ones use a draw slide made in Germany, can anyone recommend a brand of slide and a supplier in Melb area.

For the fridge slide, llike the Brown Davis one. $270 can take 100kg and will custom build a size l want. I'm planning on a water jerry in front of the fridge on the fridge slide.

Cheers
BoB

Try searching, plenty of threads on em.

carac in dande sell em. or eBay

You dont have to spend $2500 for a storage system, they are only the " SHOW SPECIAL" inflated prices designed to catch out the fools!

But making your own for under $500 is simple

I am a cabinetmaker and can tell ya right now 2500 bucks is really completely ridiculous. I aint sure of where the warehouses are in melbourne but try a place called Hafele I am not sure if they will deal with public but yeh you can get ballbearing drawer slides just like you will see on those storage systems for relativley cheap and able to hold a fair bit of weight. Im sure if you ask them they will let you know what type you want. I can check at work and get the product codes and everything for ya anyway. Hope I helped cheers

Phreeq,
Hafele in Dandenong (Monterey Rd) definitely sell to the public and they have lots of very impressive drawer slides etc but they are not cheap. They also charge a $5 handling fee for purchases so if you go there make sure you get everything you need in the one hit not in dribs and drabs or you'll pay a few $'s in handling fees.

Bob,

I have a few sets of Hettich over-extension 600/650mm 55kg slides left over from a boxful I bought to do a fridge slide & _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx. If these suit $15 a set will do.

They're similar to the ones that were used at Wandin on the wooden storage systems but not as heavy as the ones on the fridge slides but mine has worked well for an Autofridge (been to Fraser Island and various other trips).

I can email you a spec sheet & contact details if it helps.

Hi Adrian,
I'm interested in the slides. My plan was to make one similar to '4x4 Storage Components' 3drawer system displayed at Wandin. However that can be changed if the slides fit the bill.

As you mention, l'd like to look at the spec etc, as it sounds like they'll be great for the _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx.

Perhaps there's a method to send a private mail to you, l'll look after making this post.
Cheers

Truckster,

Good to finally meet you at Wandin (albeit briefly)

Will let you know as soon as I know if there are any left. This is the link to the metric equivalent (type 4932/600). All dimensions and hole spacings are the same except for the length which is 2ft (610mm) instead of 600mm.

slides 4932

Send me an email on adrian (dot) panow (at) bigpond (dot) com with your contact details.
