Why, because I have some theories....

On the Competition Photo on the left, (yeah, the comp....) I notice some things, that may help us solve the clue.

They are....

It appears that earthworks have been performed along the closest bank, and the earth is clay, and it has been rained on recently. In doing so, it also appears that some of the closest trees have fallen prey to the blade of a grader or dozer.
The clear sky, would indicate that it is a shot within the middle of the country, and during the winter, by the look of the shadows cast by the earthworks, and being around the middle of the day.

Is that a big power pylon we see on the horizon, at about a quarter in from the left?

Is any of this of any help, to anyone?

Yeah..... the comp.....

It seems to be my downfall.

I don't smoke, gamble, or womanise, but I'm hopelessly hooked on this comp.

I want to see LONEWOLF in blue writing that he has won something.

"......and the earth is clay, and it has been rained on recently."

Could be an ephemeral creek?

I haven't travelled WA extensively enough to warrant a guess, so my Mt Augustus "cheap shot" is a defiant stance! :)

My sneaky mind has been at work and I had this thought - what stops the supplier of the pic telling a mate and winning he prize.

Hey Wolfie - why don't I sumbit this one and tell you the place and then you have your wish and we split the prize. :)

Ah, yes, now THIS one, I know!

This is the creek that connects the Dularcha Tunnel to the River Bend in the current pic.
I have camped here many times, and it was me that chopped that large tree down, to make a fire.

This place is called Big Fire Landing.

I just realised this pic may add to your frustration so I will not torment further a man who is already at his wits....

Gawd Wolfie,,,,wotyado all day? sheesh, there are no earth works in the photo,,,,,look at the bend in the river. the thing in the leftish corner of the photo is a treee,,way orf in the distance. From the look of it, the river is affected by wet season rains, yet is in a fairly remote, and probably fairly hot place.
Bloddy hell, now ya got me hooked on this thing.
Figure out who's piccie it is, and bribe them with half the winnings, that should do the trick. lol

I notice a shrub flowering on the left . This is most likely in spring so must be permanent water there . However this does not help me in any way .

The only difference between you and a CSI is that after 45 miutes of bull..it theories they come up with correct answers before the hour is out !!

Having said that I am so sure that I dont know any of the answers that I havent even guessed.
