we have had the jackaroo insured with budget insurance because there premiums were cheaper than most and had great 4wd policy.
our renewal was meant to be with drawn from the bank but a mistake in the bank acount details meant they couldnt take it out.
premium was $260 something.
got a letter saying there was something wrong with the bank acount details we will now have to pay by credit card.
we dont have a card so we organised it with a friend we put the money is his account and phoned to pay.
they say oh sorry the amount is now $307 something.
wtf how can it go up nearloy $60 in a week.
oh the other price was given to you before all our premiums went up new premium will be $307.
well we wont do anything for now ill price around and get back to you.
decided there probly the best deal so we will still use them.
ring up today after we put more money in our friends bank account to do the deal.
oh sorry sir you prpemium is $347 not $307.
wtf how can that happen in less than a week.
we have changed underwriters so they have gone up since you last spoke to us.
ok forget it ill ring allianz back and use them as they were only $1 more than you at $308.
well thats my whinge for today.
and aslo does any one know if allianze are any good please.
cheers

Have no idea what Allianz is like...sure hope they r ok cause i switched over to them when i found out they were 400 bucks a year cheaper than NRMA for whom i have been with since Noah built his arc.
Hope I never have to find out really.

If you guys have a house or contents insurance i suggest you give elders insurance a go will not insure car on its own but will if you have house or contents with them they will cover it many friends of mine have changed to them and been very happy car premiums were well below anyone else and are actually quite helpfull...

If you are over 55, try australian pensioners insurance.
They were $75 cheaper than RACQ for me, just don't let anyone under 25 drive the car though as the excess is @ $1500

I seem to remember a member losing his rig in a river a while back... If memory serves me correctly, he was with Allianz and was treated well... My vehicle is with Allianz and I have had one incident, albeit in a carpark, but they acted swiftly and resolved the issue in a timely and professional manner.

The real measure of an insurance company is how they deal with a claim. In my view QBE are great.

A panelshop we deal with at work tells me Allianz are great to deal with. They pay panel shops correctly and on time and are fair. Looking at changing next renewal. Am with Racq now. The quality of repairs and fairness is well worth extra premium costs in my book.

Repairer mate of mine say's Allianz are the best to deal with and the feedback from customers was also positive.
Stay clear of the NRMA. He says they suck and customer feedback isn't much better.
In the Redlands area there are dozens of repairers. Most will not work for the NRMA

Allianz will not insure my LC TD 100S because the value of accessories fitted exceeds 40% of their stated book value. Their book value said it was worth about $40k, but my accessories added up to over $18k extra. End of story, no insurance cover offered to me by them!

Give AAMI a go - my Prado had close on 20k of accessories, at no increase in premium!

I had a minor mishap and the car was written off (water damage) - no questions, full payout.

I guess I call it minor because the water was below snorkel depth (like it was just below the lowest point of the snorkel on the outside front quarter guard)

Somehow, engine took on water, and stopped with a clunk - forward momentum stopped, and doors leaked slowly (but surely), ending up with the water just above the seats - there are LOTS of electrical bits below that level..

Stereo was making a very strange sound so I went to turn it off - it already was - so I went to turn the ignition off - it already was....

They reckon water is not real good for the electrics ;-)

I have been with allianze for about five years now, made two claims and had no problem. settled very quick both times.within a week of claim.
