Transposition...........

Sometimes when I am driving long distances in say, a transport stage, between Whoop and Whoop, my mind wanders to the scenery in my field of vision.

Very often I would look at a mountain or plain or river and think about what it would be like to be up or down there.

Then I would transport myself to that place and imagine walking through it. It becomes surreal.

Meanwhile I am still concentrating on my driving.

Letters in The Age tend to indicate that Whoop Whoop is suburban Melbourne and an lower socio-economic groupings that require a freeway to get them anywhere and not a tolway like the new ones of Bracksie government standard issue. Next they will get the new Not so Fast Trains to compensate.

Hey Willie, had some of your friends here this weekend. Missed your sense of humour but others were preesent anyway. Cheers Bro.....

Woop woop is in WA - somewhere between Manjimup and Collie.

Serious - there is an actual location called Woop Woop. I'll just have to check the map at work to confirm the co-ordinates

Thanks Jay Gee. I know it has to be different to Whoop Whoop where Willie was asking. Laughing here.........

It is good to have a go at city types that use the name Whoop Whoop or Woop Woop as they can't think of a country community in any close proximity. It is common in Victoria. I hope then they will think more seriously about a place thay may associate with.

I've done some checking and the facts are
"Woop Woop" is actually an area of forest near the townsite of Wilga which is on the Collie to Boyup Brook Road in WA.

Many many moons ago (probably in the 1920's or 30's) the Forest Department (Now called CALM forConservation and Land Managment) divided all their forest areas up into blocks and have given each block a unique name. It just so happens the name "Woop woop" was chosen for one of their blocks near Wilga.

So there you are. There really is a "Woop Woop".

Now can anyone tell me where the "Black Stump" is?

Willem

For those 'in the know , what you have described is termed/ known as 'Astral Travel'.

Astral Travel is governed by the Ministry of Secrets and Potions which has a licensing/fee regime for such activity (It is not listed in the phone book, as it is secret).

This activity is usually not a problem as it takes umteen dozen years of ones life (between Whoop & Whoop) to attain this higher plain of awareness, if in fact you ever do. (manage it that is)

There are cases though that this 'aquiring process' has been known to speed up exponentially by a Trainee Practitioner indulging in any of the following illicit substances on the Governments Prohibited Psychtropic Enhancement list.

(a) White Lightning

(b) PP Juice and dirivates

(c) Funny coloured mushrooms found in NT

Aw! this to good, I cant concentrate on typing from envisaging the places you 'visit' Willem.

PS

Can you please help me attain this skill so that SWMBO won't know I am visiting 'girlfriends' whilst passing through towns.

Lob Sam Ranka at his Himalayan Ashram.

definitely not to the EX-OZ Forum.

Ken

I didn't know you were a Harry Potter fan.

I run out of the Rocket Fuel over New Year. Gave me mate down the road the last sip. He became very vocal after that and nearly airborne. Come to think of it he might have been on an Astral Jetstream :o)

Unfortunately the PP Juice is Non alcoholic. But you have given me an idea...lol

Hi Willem,

When at work ( 28 days straight away from home ) I often dream of the places I've visited in the best place on earth " Australia "
One of my favorite places to visit in my mind is Surprise creek in Litchfield Park, that always cheers me up.

Only 4 days to go to till I leave here !! Off to Robe for some surfing, camping and fishing, YAY.

Hi TPM

Yes Surprsie Creek and Falls used to be good in the 'old days'....1970's. Especially if one could get in there in the wet season.

I am off to Lipsom Cove(Eyre Penin) tomorrow for a few days RnR

Cheers

A not unusual occurance for those of us who exist on the higher mental plane.
The correct terminology is mental menial multitasking.
