Hi,

Does anyone know if the RB30 motor will spin freely if the timing belt breaks ie is there enough clearance between the top of the piston and the valves. I know this is the case for some motors but most will hit, though not sure with this motor.

Thanks

A Standard RB30 will not be damaged if the timing belt breaks. There is sufficient piston to valve clearance. The only exception could be if it has a modified profile on the camshaft with a LOT more valve lift. The only RB30 I've ever seen with bent vavles had an object dropped down the inlet.

Hope this helps
