Hi Bindi5

Had da bushi' 3 or 4 yrs now. does all I want from the tropics of Darwin (oct) to the sth. Personal choice to change the lid (hi-top 42lt ) to open lenghtways, int' basket. good support from manufacturer. Set on 1degree in topend and alls well. I added computer fan for my situation. Freezer @ home 24/7.

hi bindi5, ive had a bushman for 3years and iam completely happy with it you can set the temp that you wish and the compressor will cut in at 3deg higher that that temp & cut out at 3deg below that temp meaning that is the average temp of the fridge. i have several mates with the engal and i believe the bushman is a better fridge, we have been to birdsville , the flinders, innaminka, in 40 plus and heaps of other places without problems, also handy at home for party's . whichever fridge you purchase it will be a good long term investment, i would stick to the better quality fridges eg bushman ,ingal, etc. they keep there resale value and you would not be without one once you have had a fridge / freezer.
best of luck shepo

Gday Bindi5

Have had one for one year now, been on some very rough trips and it loves it! Highly recommend this fridge. Temp setting is great as mentioned above also the way the thermostat works saves power. I would buy another tomorrow if something happened to mine.

Good luck Troo Bloo

Had our" Bushy" now for around 9 - 10 years using it "up north" and down south, mostly as a freezer but sometimes just to bring home the cold shopping items.
Has performed as good as any other brand.
The beauty is all parts are still available so if anything breaks down it can be replaced.

Have also bought the hi-top lid but hadn't thought about changing it to a lengthwise opening.....Hmm...I see another project appearing here. And probably a comment from SWAMBO about not finishing the other dozen or so....he he

Agree woth all the above re the Bushman - we love it - never let us down once in all kinds of weather. Plenty of room and low amp draw. we did find the baskets move around a bit on rought roads, so took them out for travelling.
