Yes......Autosol is the best and than Mothers for a nice finish.
The rock hard stuff is called rughe but only works witha power buffer.
You get different colour rughes, for aluminium it needs to be green.
Have fun

You can get the stuff the professionals use!
A large bar of 'mysterious stuff' !!
It's hard as stone, you run the associated buffing tool (on a drill or angle grinder) onto this stuff, then rub the polishing wheel on the aluminium....
I've seen it sold at Bunnings (I just can't remember the name of the stuff), just ask for aluminium polishing stuff! It's very expensive (an old mate of
mine now does this for a living) and he uses this stuff!

The stuff you want is called "Purple". It is a liquid polish that is easily applied and removed giving a very good shine. If the alloy is really dirty there is a pre cleaner made by the same company that will definately do what it says.
As far as i know, this stuff is only available from B.P.
Yes it is expensive at roughly $25 per bottle, but 1 bottle of this stuff will do all four fuel tanks, the stacks and a very large ally bar on my truck,,,,,twice.
(or should that be......the kids use it on the truck, whilst i sit and relax inside...) :)
