Hi there gonebush, dont want to start a debate on this fridge or that one, but how does it go in extreme temp eg 35/40 as I like the idea of the 3 way. Is it a case of only will keep things cool that are put in cool or will it actually bring down to say 4 c.Also what size are they in litres. Are they like an upright bar fridge or are they like an engel/waeco. Regards Steve M

Hello Stephen,
Saw one yesterday at KMart, I think it was 39 litres and looked like a green take off of the old Finch 3-Way.
As to the extreme temperature question, no idea.

Geoff.

we are very pleased with ours and have used it in quite hot weather, at xmas we had a week of around the high 30's and had the fridge set up in the annex running on 240 and our drinks stayed nice and cool, there was one day when the temp went into the low 40's and the fridge kept up with it but my hubby being who he is always tries for more and wanted to see what would happen if he placed our desk type fan at the back of the fridge to see if it would drop the temp any more and it did help even though we could of done with the fan ourselves!
we have tried it on gas, 12 volt etc and it's great, the size is 35 litre with the lid on the top (like an esky) and it even comes with an iceblock tray to prove it makes iceblocks.
and the best part of all about having it is no more soggy wet drinks/food from floating around in the ice water and not having to buy ice all the time. our only reget is not getting it sooner.
hope this helps.

Have got the Repco fridge and used it on 12v & Gas and works well and freezes ice-cubes. Have not taken it to extreem temps yet, but it's been in the car for a few hours in the sun and the car gets up to 40'C and the fridge was still very cool. Have just bought a $10 digital temp gauge and will be using it this weekend. I'll report back the temps if I remember LOL.

Also found a gasmate on ebay, search under 3 way fridge, there are a few, the gasmate looks the same fridge, in ad it quotes 25 below ambient, thats ok, but only really thermocooler performance.

Also when on gas using absorption system, most fridges in this mode need to be entirely level to operate efficiently.

That is incredibly cheap at $99 but wonder what it will end up at..? Thats the thing with Ebay, I've been lucky lately, picked up a Kipor Gennie real cheap and a Honda Outboard for my inflatable. My only bitch with these 3 way fridges is that they take so long to cool from scratch, otherwise on gas there fine once cool and use stuff all gas.
