I do not know about a "booster antenna" for your laptop but I have external aerials for my Kyocera CDMA. I have a GME one mounted on the bullbar and I have a magnetic one that sits on the roof of the car. (I have two , one for the 4WD and one for the "normal car"). GME one came from ARB and the magnetic one came from a Telstra shop. They both have a limited effect on reception. How do you find the cost of using your CDMA for internet access? I presume you have a dial-up plan?

you may be able to use a re-radiating antenna on your cdma unit, it couples to your existing antenna via its closeness and can be connected to say a 6.5db CDMA antenna you can get all about the place.
