Have used the one last on the left as you leave on the Townsville rd. Can't remember the name. There is another closer to town on the same road which looks promising but the area for camper trailers etc were very small. The last one on the way out doesn't look anything out of the box but had flat drive through campsite for trailer and vans. Amenties were fine.

You head out as if going to Townsville up the main drag and then over a small rise and it is the last set of buildings on the left.

Well that was successful, as I have not loaded a link site before and it worked the first time. Simply amazing.

Interesting photo Wolfie of the secret caves comparing it to the contest one. Its just that no one can get the computer to tell them that it is right.

Hi Greendog, there are several parks in Mt Isa -Argylla Tourist Park, Copper City Caravan Park, Moondara Caravan Park, Mt Isa Caravan Park, Riverside Tourist Park and Sunset Top Tourist Park. They can all be found in the 2006 Queensland Caravan Parks & Touring Accommodation Guide (Outback section) at:
www.caravanqld.com.au
Check it out - should answer many questions, otherwise come back to me and I will email further.

Greendog, just thought - the hard copies of this 2006 Directory just arrived and I have plenty - they are good with pictures, maps, hints, town maps as well. If you want a hard copy just email me on my Advertiser Enquiry with your address and I'll post one to you. Might help if you are planning the trip - pictures are always good.
Gives costs etc.

I've stayed at the Sunset Top tourist park and it was great! You may need to book in advance though. Plenty of green grass, pool and you are behind secure gates to the park at night meaning your gear is safe and sound.

Cheers, Terry
