I have a 1984 MK wagon with a P40 motor. A couple of years ago my water pump went and after a bit of looking I ordered one through my local Supercheap store. It was a lot cheaper than an original Nissan one and so far works great. I hope this helps.

P40 engine first appeared in the SWB of 1982, after the 2.8 and 3.3 engines. The P40 ran in limited numbers right through to 1985 when it was phased out in a model designated the "Limited Edition" or LTD. These were all LWB wagons with unique paint colours, spare wheel carrier and steps. Essentially the P40 is a carry over engine, a modernised version of the original 3.9 litre G60 model. I'm 99% certain the water pumps are the same, having the large B section pulley and belt. The limited number of 150 I think refers to the Hybrid G61, which filled a gap in the year 1979 before the MQ was released in 1980. This used a unigue chassis, P40 engine with 4-speed box, MQ axles (drum brakes however) and the G60 body on top. The water pump should be obtainable from either supercheap or Bursons auto parts. I don't expect Nissan would keep them any longer.
