We have a JVC digital video camera that I dropped while walking through a gorge in Mount Augustus a couple of years back.

I turned it on to see if it worked OK only to find it wouldnt focus and there was a large dent in the lens housing.

We bought it for the trip and I spent the rest of the time worrying about how I could convince JVC that the dent on the lens had nothing to do with the camera not working properly ;-).

I was at the point where I thought there goes $1500, but when we got it home I plugged it in to 240 volts and its worked perfectly ever since. Got to be happy with that.
