I have an accessory that I want to install in the cabin of my 4wd but someone has used black marker pen on its plastic. I also have
grey painted metal elsewhere with the same problem. Is there a successful way of removing it without using a steel brush and re finishing it ?

Footloose
Get a pen the same, and a paper towel. Rub the marker pen over the original writing and before it dries wipe hard with paper towel. Try on most inconspicuous spot first

Metho or Lacquer Thinner - but
test it on an inconspicuous area to see if it will affect the plastic.

if its a permanent marker, goe over it with a white board marker and rub off asap. Old trainers tip from way back.
I hate it when those pens look the same......

Carefull with insect repellants I have had them do some serious damage to plastics.
Second the whiteboard marker method use it often.

According to the experts, you get a marker of the same type, mark over the top of the existing marks & quickly wipe off, if there is a lot you would only do a small section at a time.
